The library’s technology instructors are a talented group who are experts in the topics they teach. They come from a variety of backgrounds including librarians, a private school technology teacher, a college level information technology instructor, media specialists in private industry and at an Ivy League school, and a social media consultant. Always enthusiastic to show the public what new trends are emerging, the instructors frequently develop new classes. With their creative ideas and with suggestions from our customers, the library continues to be the destination to learn about technology! Thanks to your input, we are offering sessions this spring in Advanced Excel, Advanced PowerPoint, and we’ve brought back Google Drive.
Planning for the summer, there are several ideas being developed including a few customer suggestions, Google Earth and InDesign. Collaboration between library staff and instructors has resulted in several new classes that we believe will be educational, innovative and fun. They include Social Media Strategy, Podcast 101, Photoshop and a session dedicated to taking better videos. For our younger customers, we will offer a variety of Scratch coding, including a session on storytelling, gaming and a weeklong in-depth look at coding, along with a multi-session blogging class.
In the meantime, there are still many great classes scheduled through June. Take a look at what’s new this spring:

With a variety of classes like these, there really is something for everyone. If you know someone who might be interested, share this post or have them stop in the library to pick up a brochure. All of our classes are open to the public, free and don’t require registration. See you in the library.
